In case of troubles with ARC clients, do the following:

• Read error messages
• In case error is unclear, repeat the operation with an increased debug (verbosity) level using command line option -d
• Read man pages for the command, e.g.

  man arcsub

• Read F.A.Q.
• Read a relevant user gude
• When nothing helps, submit a trouble ticket to GGUS

Hints and tips

• In order to use current production ARC sites, always install Globus plugins, otherwise you will get confusing errors or silent failures (bug 2279):

  nordugrid-arc-plugins-globus

• If you upgrade from older ARC or NOX clients, better remove them and make a clean install, otherwise you may run into conflicting packages
